FHTM Training

Today I went to Columbus for a pretty good training event.  Chris Doyle conducted a business presentation first.  The one thing I will say about Chris is that I like his ability to mix humor into the presentation.  Definitely something I will have to work on for myself.  After the FHTM business presentation we had training by Chris Doyle and Yvette Pennington on how to work the Fortune High Tech Marketing Business.  Yvette Pennington also gave a class on giving presentations.  Very professional!

I will have to say that the more I am involved with FHTM, the more I am impressed.  Nothing like other network marketing companies I have worked with.  Top quality training and a no nonsense approach to building the business.  A good example is that we are taught to not try and sign up those that don't get it or are not interested.  Show the business plan, if they do not seem interested, don't waste time, move on to someone else.

Yesterday I finally was able to  publish my schedule for teaching social networking classes in Lima Ohio and announced our first ever Octoudel Linkedin Group Social Networking Party.  Very excited that things are coming together on this.  One little complication did crop up in all the excitement.  Fortune Hi Tech Marketing let me know that as far a FHTM is concerned they can not endorse the classes or participate.  Kind of a bummer! 

Anyway, I am going forward with teaching the classes on social networking and building an internet business.  The fact that FHTM does not endorse the class is really not a problem as it has nothing to do with the company anyway.
Our group on Linkedin is growing daily and I did make some changes today to the makeup of that group.  The group is open to anyone interested in affiliate marketing, network marketing or internet marketing.

Another item in the works at this time is a web hosting service.  A couple of the FHTM reps have approached me about building and managing websites for them, so I am working on a package for people that want a website, yet need someone to fully manage the site.  It will be interesting to see how many people actually want and are willing to pay for this service.

For the last few years I have been working on the Internet learning how to build large social networks and market on the Internet.

I have built up a sizable amount of connections on Linkedin and Twitter.

Linkedin is the largest social networking site on the Internet for professionals and business people with over 55 millions users.

Twitter is estimated to have 25 million users.

On my main Linkedin account I have over 2000 direct connections and another few hundred thousand connections through various groups.

On my biggest Twitter account I have almost 2000 followers.

I am the owner of one of the largest political groups on Linkedin, The Political Coffeehouse. The Political Coffeehouse group is larger than the Democratic National Committee and I am confident we will bypass the Republican National Committee by the end of this year.

I started a Linkedin group called Octoudel to promote my new Octoudel.com web site and was able to get 61 people signed up in less than 24 hours!

Social and Internet Marketing Classes

I have been working on setting up classes for those interested in learning more about how to use Social Networking with sites like Linkedin and Twitter, to market their Network Marketing business.  I also will be giving classes on Internet Marketing that will include websites, blogs, search engine optimization, linking strategies and much more.

Right now I am in the final stages of putting together the announcement and hope to post something tomorrow.  The classes will be live, in person events.  I am lining up locations that have wi-fi so get your laptops ready!  Classes will start in Lima Ohio the second week of February with Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati on the schedule.  I also will be making available in February personal one on one classes and seminars for network marketing, internet marketing and social networking.  Per the request of Yvette Pennington I will also teach classes and run webinars.

I am also putting together a list of services that will be offered at Octoudel.  I am working on a setting up a web hosting service that will cater to Network Marketers and Internet Marketers.  This service will have semi and fully managed websites and possibly an auto-responder system.

The Book of Eli

The other night I watched the new Denzel Washington movie "The Book of Eli"...Very Spiritually Moving!....I don't want to give away the movie to those who have not seen it, so will only touch on the part that really pertains to business.  In the movie "Eli" spends 30 years of his life carrying the last Bible in existence to an unknown location.   God appeared to Eli and told him to take the Bible west.  In a setting that reminds one of the movie Mad Max, Eli is seen on the last days of his very arduous journey. 

I think we all need a mission in life.  Something beyond our mundane chores and existence.  So you want to be an internet marketing and or network marketing guru?  Say you make it, what then?  It is that, "what then" that will get you there.  Whether it is the drive to better care for your family or do a greater good for others, having a "greater purpose" can keep us going when the times are tough, the money is not coming in and it seems that no one wants to talk to you. 

So I would recommend watching "The Book of Eli" and thinking about what your purpose should be in life.  I myself am thinking that there are a lot of poor people, people that do not understand that their lives can become better.  I would like to help educate and show these people how to obtain that better life.  What would you like to do?

A couple of days ago I did a search on my name J. Michael Warner on Google and J. Michael Warner on Yahoo.  Unbelievable!  I pretty much dominate the first couple of pages on both sites.  Seems almost unbelievable, but after a couple of years of writing articles that have been published online, I am starting to really stand out.

If you want to get anywhere with working the business of network marketing on the Internet, you have to promote yourself.  I was introduced to a fellow about a year ago that claimed to be a "big fish" in the network marketing field.  WOW  The only problem was that I could not find any reference to him on the internet.  Now you might think that maybe he did not operate on the Internet.  Network Marketing is a people business, maybe the Internet was not venue of operation.  But, in my mind, there should have been some reference to the fellow, somewhere.

Self promotion is one of the keys to success on the web.  Write articles, leave comments.  Start discussions on the forums.  Start your own groups.  Do all of this on a multitude of sites and over a period of time you will have the chance to dominate your field.

As many who read this blog will know I am fairly well connected on Linkedin.  As I write this I am just shy of 2000 connections.  I have started and run groups on Linkedin before and find for professional purposes that having a group on Linkedin is very beneficial.

So I have now started a group for professional network marketers on Linkedin.  The Group is Octoudel Professional Network Marketing.  Stop by and take a look at the group, join in, network and establish yourself as a professional in the network marketing business.

Is Fortune High Tech Marketing A Scam?

On our main website I asked the question of whether or not Fortune High Tech Marketing is a scam.  A lot of allegations all over the net, but I have not seen any proof from any of the complainers that would prove FHTM is a scam.  Considering the amount of lawsuits companies like Walmart, Ford, General Electric and the like are always involved in, I would expect that Fortune High Tech Marketing has their share.  It will be interesting to see if anyone takes up my challenge and starts posting what they consider proof that FHTM is a scam. 

What is sad, but laughable is that every one of the people alleging scam on these websites, are running ads that either promote FHTM or promote sites that allege everything in the world except their opportunity is a scam.  Not a very healthy attitude.

It is funny how people resist change.  Network Marketing has been around for over 50 years now and still some resist the idea that it is a viable way of doing business.  Social Networking via the internet comes along and it is resisted by some in business.  It is better to meet and greet, shake hands, nothing compares to meeting people in person or so some believe.  So while some realize the power of the internet and take advantage of it, others are still stuck in the 1950's.

I am now working on a curriculum that will be used to teach social networking through Linkedin and Twitter, to network marketers.  Since I am a Rep with Fortune High Tech Marketing, Reps with FHTM in the Lima Ohio area will be the first able to attend the classes I will be teaching.  Of course if anyone else is interested in the social networking classes they also can attend. 

On Wednesday Jan. 13, 2010 I will be meeting with Yvette Pennington and Chris Doyle here in Lima, just before Chris Doyle's presentation.  We will be going over my ideas and seeing what kind of synergy we can have together.  I should be able to announce a schedule for the classes by this weekend.  Anyone that is interested in attending the classes can email me.   The venue at this point will be at the Westgate Bowling Center in Lima Ohio.  If I get a lot of people signing up, we will move to a larger venue.

Fortune High Tech Marketing

A new year and a ton of new projects.  I started this blog a year ago for a client.  The client could not get their business off the ground, so now I have decide to use it for my Fortune High Tech Marketing business.  My new website on network and internet marketing has been launched and I believe the two will go hand in hand. 

FHTM is a network marketing company that I am now a Rep in.  I am using the Octoudel site to publish articles on how to work the businesses of internet and network marketing, we also have a forum on that site.  This blog will be used to keep my downline posted on my activities with Fortune High Tech Marketing.
